Piper Navajo crashes in Fort Lauderdale

A PA-31-350 Piper Navajo Chieftain, crashed on a parking lot on shortly after departed from Fort Lauderdale Excutive Airport.  The accident happened on March 15th at 4:20 PM.  Witnesses reported that the accident aircraft had an engine failure immediately after take off.

The aircraft was destroyed by impact and post-impact fire. The three occupants onboard received fatal injuries.

Fort Lauderdale spokesman Matt Little said the plane took off, banked right, and crashed into several parked vehicles. He believes the plane is Fort Lauderdale based.

Little said no one on the ground was injured.
