Cebu Pacific A320 Overruns Runway at Davao – Philippines

A Cebu Pacific Airbus 320 overrun the runway of the Francisco Bangoy Intl. airport at Davao City in the Philippines.  The incident occurred this evening at around 7:10 PM.

Cebu Pacific, flight 5J971, an Airbus 320 was covering the route between the capital city of Manila and Davao, was carrying 165 passengers.  The incident happened during heavy rain conditions over the airport.  The aircraft overrun the runway and came to a stop over the uncemented portion of the runway.

There were no injuries among the passengers and crew.  The airport was temporarily closed because the aircraft was blocking the runway.
